So what’s the difference between England, Great Britain, and the United Kingdom?

** The United Kingdom refers to four countries: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Together, they are governed by a parliament... the capital of which is in London.

** Great Britain is the Eastern island of the United Kingdom. It’s comprised of England, Scotland, and Wales, as well as a few smaller outlying islands.

** England is a country located in the southwestern two-thirds of the island of Great Britain, which it shares with Scotland and Wales.
