Dear Reader,
Yesterday I sent you five online blogs where you can get paid to write about your travels... or anything you like. If you missed that article, you’ll find it in our archives, here:

Here’s a note from a reader, with yet another place to get published and paid for page views and ad revenue:

Hi Lori,
I attended the San Francisco Ultimate Travel Writer’s Workshop last year. I’d like to share a success story with you and pass on an opportunity for other AWAI alumni.
With the economy being in a downturn, I've found myself with a reduced work week (Mon to Thurs). So I use my Fridays to focus on writing.
I am now the Sacramento Outdoor Travel writer for Examiner.com (http://www.examiner.com/x-8808-Sacramento-Outdoor-Travel-Examiner). I’m excited to have a by-line and some street cred.
Right now, Examiner.com is looking for writers and setting up new websites in major metropolitan areas across the country. This is an online gig, with pay determined by page views.
Please let other AWAI students know that this opportunity exists.
Thanks for all the help and support!

Congratulations, Laurie! Your articles look great.
If you’d like to follow in Laurie’s footsteps and write for Examiner.com, you’ll first need to pick a subject for which you’ll be an “examiner.” The site is expanding content, so there are plenty of open examiner positions.
Right now, Examiner.com is looking to fill the following travel-related positions:
- Active Seniors Travel Examiner
- Adventure Travel Examiner
- Africa Travel Examiner
- Asia Travel Examiner
- Beaches Examiner
- Budget Travel Examiner
- Cultural Travel Examiner
- Living Abroad Examiner
- Spa Travel Examiner
And there are many more available on the site, here: http://www.examiner.com/about_examiner
When you fill out your application, you’ll need to write a brief article and a personal bio. Before you submit, let them know you were referred by Laurie Racca by clicking on “Find your Examiner” next to “I was referred by an Examiner.”

P.S. Laurie also mentioned that since the Ultimate Travel Writer’s Workshop, she’s kept in touch with fellow attendees, and even collaborated on some writing and editing projects. She said, “The San Francisco travel writing workshop was just the kick in the pants that I needed.” That’s what’s so great about our workshops. They’re more than straight information... they also provide inspiration, networking opportunities, and that often missing piece: the drive to go make it happen.
Join us at this year’s Ultimate Travel Writer’s Workshop this July in Denver, Colorado, and make your travel writing take off: http://www.thetravelwriterslife.com/tww/denver09
