Passport to Romance: The Ultimate Travel Writers Course

The Write Way to Travel

Today, rather than feature just one publication, I'm including two. Both are places you might get your next by-line.

Perhaps you, like many of our readers, are interested in travel writing and photography because both careers provide you the flexibility to work from wherever in the world you choose to live or visit.

If France is a country where you dream of spending time -- or maybe already live all or part of your year -- then either of these featured publications could be a perfect fit for your next article (and photographs). They publish mostly real estate articles (I'll tell you how to write one below) but also feature articles on French food and side-trips outside France.

With that in mind, take a look at both of these Featured Publications and see if you can come up with an article to pitch. Then, look through the Further Resources section below where you'll find help in writing it.

Don't have any ideas? Join us in Paris this May 24-27 and find something to write about as we scour the city on our photo workshop: http://www.thephotographerslife.com/paris2006. Only two seats are left.

Have a good rest of your weekend!

Living France and French Magazine

Living France

While the Brit magazine Living France claims to be "devoted to France and all things French," all they really care about is finding properties and moving to France. They publish 13 colorful issues a year and run plenty of personal experience stories, but all pertain to expat life. If you want to find out more, go to www.livingfrance.com
or you can contact editor Lucy-Jane Cypher via http://www.livingfrance.com/lvfra/content/contactUs.asp

French Magazine

Maybe you'll feel more comfortable here. This stylish monthly publication from Bath, England tries to cover it all. They run in-depth travel stories with plenty of photos, but also numerous features on expat life in France. It's upscale, not aimed at budget travelers.

Editor Justin Postlethwaite takes queries at edit@frenchmagazine.co.uk, but first visit the publication's Website, found at www.frenchmagazine.co.uk
