Katie Yeakle is the Executive Director of the AWAI. She has spent over 20 years in the world of direct marketing and publishing in the roles of copy editor, editorial coordinator, product manager, fulfillment supervisor, marketing manager and publisher.

Katie helped establish American Writers & Artists Inc. (AWAI) in 1997 with co-founders Paul Hollingshead and Don Mahoney.

Today, as Executive Director, Katie oversees AWAI’s 30+ programs designed to help people turn their passions into careers. Programs range from resume and children’s book writing, to graphic design and more, and provide members the opportunity to be successful while experiencing the freedom of leaving the 9-5 grind behind.

The Travel Division – created in 2004 – is a division of AWAI and operates separately in Washington DC.

Since 1997, Katie and AWAI have helped over 10,000 members learn how to successfully launch freelance careers and prosper in the $1.8 trillion direct response industry.
