| What is your current occupation? |
| Controller |

| What are you studying at AWAI (travel writing,
photography, import/export, or all three)? |
| Photography and Travel Writing |
| |
| What was your first successful article or photo about
and where did it appear? |
| My first photo sale was a stock photo shot from the Paris workshop. It sold the first day I put it up on the site! |
|
|
| |
| What are you working on now? |
| My stock photos continue to sell - 90 images so far. I haven't been doing much shooting lately, but the arrival of Spring is certainly inspiring. |
| |
| What has been your proudest writing, photography, or
import/export moment? |
| At the Paris workshop when Lori asked if she could use some of my shots for the Photo course! I'd only been at it for a few days, and I already felt so good about my work. Since then it has been each time Shelly Perry gives me a great rating or comment on my stock site! |

| Please give us an example of how your life has
changed since becoming a travel writer, photographer, or
import-exporter. |
| Since I work for a family business, I can't really leave my job just yet (my Dad still works full-time and he's 84!)! I do travel quite a bit though, and now I always have article and photo ideas in mind. My favorite thing is to get out on my own locally with my camera and notepad. Once I get that last teenager out of the house, I'll have even more time to explore. |
| |
| What success tip would you like to share with your
fellow AWAI members? |
| Don't be afraid to use your eyes and ears in a new way. It's all about perception, and finding a new angle -- for a photo or a story. |
| |
| When did you realize you were living the writer’s or
photographer’s life? |
| I don't really think I am just yet. I feel a bit like a "pretender". Perhaps I should say I'm practicing for the time a few years from now when I can truly live the lifestyle. |
