| What are you studying at AWAI (travel writing,

| |
| What was your first successful article or photo about
and where did it appear? |
| My first successful travel-related article was an article about a local centennial military tattoo published in Where Edmonton (a magazine placed in all the local hotels and motels for visitors). |
|
|
| |
| What are you working on now? |
| Due to the lengthy illness and recent death of both of my parents, I have not been able to do any travel writing for a year or so, but I have been busy with some copywriting assignments. |
| |
| What has been your proudest writing, photography, or
import/export moment? |
| My proudest moment was when I interviewed Jann Arden for Where Edmonton. |

| Please give us an example of how your life has
changed since becoming a travel writer, photographer, or
import-exporter. |
| When I travel now, I look at everything with a writer's eye. |
| |
| What success tip would you like to share with your
fellow AWAI members? |
| If you write, you are a writer. You can definitely become better at your craft, but you don't have to wait to become a writer - just write. |
| |
| When did you realize you were living the writer’s or
photographer’s life? |
| I realized I was living the writer's life when I filled up my portfolio with published articles, and when my accountant recognized my writing income as more than just "other income" |
